The National World War II Museum is less than 3 km away, and the Aquarium of the Americas is an 8-minute drive. Magazine Street for shopping and dining is five blocks away, and numerous restaurants are within walking distance including Superior Grill (attached), The Delachaise, and Robin's Wharf Uptown. The gated on-site parking makes car-based navigation easy, though for trips to the French Quarter the streetcar is the more practical option. The Garden District offers a quieter, tree-lined setting with many historic homes within walking distance.

Accommodation options include spacious double rooms with one king bed and quadruple rooms with two double beds. Each room features a work desk, wardrobe, safe, heating, and private bathroom with bath and hairdryer. Corner rooms with two windows are available for longer stays. Some rooms provide an additional sink outside the bathroom, useful for two people. While many rooms offer city views facing the quiet Garden District street, several rooms overlook the rear mechanical area which can be noisy. The property is older and basic in style, but rooms are generally clean and comfortable with effective air conditioning. There are no rooms with balconies or jacuzzis in any unit.

The grab-and-go continental breakfast includes bagels, bread, cream cheese, butter, jam, muffins, cereals, fruit cups, hard-boiled eggs, milk, juices, coffee, and tea. The breakfast is self-serve in the lobby, with outdoor patio seating available. Superior Grill, attached via a shared door from the lobby, serves Mexican food with a full bar, and is generally well-regarded. Several other restaurants such as The Delachaise and Mayfair Lounge are within a 5-minute walk. Coffee and bottled water are available in the lobby throughout the day.
