Descanso Resort is set in the Uptown district, 3 km from downtown Palm Springs stores and restaurants. El Paseo luxury shopping district is 2 km away, and Palm Springs International Airport is 4 km from the property. Numerous restaurants, including Denny's, Sandfish Sushi & Whiskey, and Billy Reed's, are within a 0.5-km walk. The resort is also convenient for accessing the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. No airport shuttle is available, but free on-site parking makes car travel easy.

All rooms feature a king bed, seating area, private bathroom with bathrobes and free toiletries, air conditioning, heating, in-room safe, refrigerator, and cable TV. Some rooms have a balcony offering mountain or pool views. The Deluxe Balcony Suite includes a spa bath and a separate living room with a daybed (note: the door between the living room and bedroom does not lock). Ground-floor rooms and suites provide direct access to the pool deck and are particularly spacious. Upper-level rooms are bright and sunny with expansive views. The Grande Suite has a whirlpool tub. Rooms are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness and are refreshed daily.

A continental breakfast is served daily, featuring steamed eggs, overnight oats, croissants, bagels, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee. A catered lunch with a selection of salads and sandwiches is also included and can be ordered poolside. A wine happy hour takes place daily at 4:00 pm, with Saturday sangria and Sunday mimosas. A 24/7 cantina provides complimentary soft drinks, snacks, cookies, popcorn, and a Starbucks coffee/tea machine. There is no formal restaurant on site, but several dining options are within a short walk.

The outdoor heated pool is open year-round and features a shallow end, sun loungers, beach chairs, umbrellas, and pool towels. A hot tub is available free of charge. The lush garden with outdoor furniture and a fire pit provides a quiet retreat. Free bicycle rentals, hiking, and cycling opportunities are nearby. On-site spa services are not available, but a list of external masseurs can be provided for in-room massage. The resort is clothing-optional at the pool area.

WiFi is free throughout the property. Private on-site parking is free but reservations are not possible; an electric vehicle charging station is available. Daily housekeeping, express check-in/out, luggage storage, concierge service, and a shared lounge/TV area are provided. The property is adults-only and designated smoking areas are available. Accessibility features include accessible parking and facilities for disabled guests. Pets are not allowed (certified emotional support animals may be considered with additional fee).
