Jernbanetorget Square and the main shopping street Karl Johans Gate are 100 metres away; the Opera House and the Oslo Fjord are a 5-minute walk. Akershus Fortress is 1 km away. The station gives you direct rail, tram, and bus connections across the city, making this an ideal base for transit-heavy itineraries. The surrounding Bjørvika district offers many restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance.

Room types include Compact Single (10-14 m2, 90-120 cm bed), Compact Double (15 m2, queen bed, some with French balcony), Standard Twin (15-20 m2, twin beds), Standard Double (varying layouts with views of the Opera, fjord, or Karl Johan), Superior Double (queen bed, bath, seating area), and six unique suites including the former King's waiting room. Compact rooms have minimal storage and are best for short stays or travellers spending little time indoors. Standard and superior rooms are larger with more amenities. Some rooms feature two-level layouts or sloping ceilings; these are not ideal for those with mobility concerns. The building's historic structure means room sizes and layouts vary - the hotel has 113 different room configurations.
