The hotel sits at Jernbanetorget, 100 m from Oslo Central Station and a 1-minute walk from Karl Johans Gate shopping street. The Flytoget express train reaches Gardermoen Airport in 19 minutes (240 NOK). The Oslo Opera House is a 5-minute walk. Akershus Fortress is 1 km away. Tram and bus stops are at the doorstep. The location is ideal for transit travellers, though street-facing rooms can be noisy from trams and construction; courtyard-facing rooms are quieter.

Room types range from compact doubles (140 cm bed) to superior twins and deluxe rooms with private balconies. All rooms are soundproofed, carpeted (some with hardwood floors), and include a flat-screen TV, full-length mirror, and climate control. Standard rooms are compact-bed access is from one side only-and storage is limited to wall hooks, no wardrobe. Superior rooms on the 7th floor have balconies, courtyard or street views, and hardwood floors. Blackout curtains help with the midnight sun. The heating/cooling vent can be noisy and cannot be switched off. Road-facing rooms hear trams; courtyards are quieter. Towels are basic: one bath and one hand towel per person, no bath mat.

The hotel does not have a full restaurant. At the Barception, buy a breakfast bag (125 NOK) containing yoghurt, fruit, juice, oatmeal or a cracker, plus coffee/tea. The bar also sells wrapped food, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and snacks. More than 20 eateries are within a 3-minute walk, including Pincho Nation, Peppes Pizza, and Boba Cha, plus the Oslo Central Station food court. For basic groceries, a Joker supermarket is around the corner (open Sundays). No kettle or coffee maker in rooms.
