HILTON PHOENIX TAPATIO CLIFFS RESORT, Phoenix

The resort is set on a mountainside with steep drives and limited sidewalk access between buildings, making a car or the complimentary golf-cart shuttle essential for movement. Parking is available on-site for a daily fee, though the internal roads are narrow and spots can be tight. Downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale, and the Biltmore Corridor are within a short drive. For hiking enthusiasts, the North Mountain Visitor Center is adjacent, offering direct trail access. Those without a car will find ride-shares necessary for off-property dining or attractions, as the location is removed from the main road and public transport is not readily available.

The resort offers 584 suites, from two-room Resort Suites to larger Ambassador and Signature options with fireplaces and dining tables. All rooms feature Hilton Serenity Beds, two flat-screen TVs, work desks, and coffee makers. A microwave is not standard but can be requested at check-in. The layout is extremely spread out across hillside buildings, and rooms are a mix of renovated and older stock. Some units have reported issues with dated décor, worn carpets, noisy air conditioning, or maintenance problems like sticky doors or slow drains. Balcony views depend on the specific room booked-mountain views are not guaranteed unless a Resort View accommodation is selected. The property's hilly terrain and uneven pathways may pose challenges for those with mobility issues.

Different Pointe of View is the signature restaurant, serving contemporary American cuisine with Mediterranean influences and offering stunning sunset vistas. It holds a AAA Four-Diamond rating and requires advance reservations. Pointe In Tyme serves American classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a consistent option for families. Cascades Café, located at the Falls Water Village, offers salads, sandwiches, and cocktails, but closes relatively early at 5:00 PM. A Starbucks in the lobby provides coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go items. In-room dining is available 24 hours. The breakfast buffet is available for an additional charge of $16. Some outlets may close for private events or reduced hours, so it is wise to confirm availability during your stay.

The Falls Water Village is the centrepiece with two free-form pools, a 12 m waterfall, and the water slide. An adult pool offers a quieter alternative. All pools are heated and open year-round, with the main village open until 8 PM and smaller pools until 11 PM. The fitness centre includes Precor equipment, a Peloton bike, and free weights. Outdoor enthusiasts can access hiking and mountain biking trails directly from the property via the North Mountain Preserve. Lookout Mountain Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course, is on-site. The full-service Tocaloma Spa & Salon is currently closed. Poolside service and towel stations are available, though staffing levels can vary.

Internet access is free across the resort, including pool areas and restaurants. A daily resort charge covers self and valet parking, internet for up to two devices, and access to the Falls Water Village. Laundry facilities are available at no extra cost. The property offers a 24-hour business centre and extensive meeting space (over 6000 m²) for conferences and events. Elevators and wheelchair-accessible rooms and routes are present, though the hillside layout remains challenging for mobility-impaired visitors. Car hire and airport transfer services can be arranged for a fee. Security includes 24-hour staff, key card access, and safes in rooms.
