HOSTAL AVENIDA, Madrid

Hostal Avenida occupies a prime position on Gran Via, Madrid's main shopping and theatre avenue. Puerta del Sol is a 5-minute walk, and most of the city's famous landmarks, including the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, are within 20 minutes on foot. The Gran Via metro station is just steps away, providing direct connections across the city. The surrounding area is lively, with numerous restaurants, shops, and theatres. Despite the central location, some interior-facing rooms offer a quieter retreat from the street bustle. The building itself is a striking early 20th-century structure with a grand entrance.

The guesthouse offers single, double, twin, triple, and quadruple rooms, all with private bathroom (some with bath or shower), hairdryer, and free toiletries. Rooms include a wardrobe, safe, parquet floors, heating, and a desk. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. Some rooms have a covered balcony overlooking Gran Via, providing excellent city views. Rooms are generally compact, and noise transmission between rooms and from the hallway is notable - light sleepers may prefer a room on the interior courtyard for better quiet. Some interior rooms have limited natural light due to a courtyard window. Daily housekeeping keeps rooms clean, and a mini-fridge is standard in all rooms.

The guesthouse offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and a free luggage storage service, allowing guests to drop bags before check-in or after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included and keeps rooms tidy. A concierge and tour desk can provide maps, recommendations, and help with tour bookings. A vending machine for drinks is available. The building has a lift and 24-hour security at the entrance. Fax and photocopying are available for an additional charge. There is no parking, so public transport or taxis are recommended. Pets are not permitted. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out by 11:00; the staff are known for being helpful and accommodating with early arrivals when possible.
