The property is in central Eixample, about 10 minutes on foot from Sagrada Família and similarly close to Casa Batllò and La Pedrera. Tetuan metro station is a 2-minute walk, and Girona metro is roughly 10 minutes away. Barcelona Sants station is accessible via metro for direct airport train connections, while Arc de Triomf and Passeig de Gràcia stations are also within walking distance. The cruise port is around 15 minutes by taxi. Numerous restaurants, supermarkets and shops are within a 5-minute radius, and the beach is about 30 minutes on foot or a short metro ride.

Refurbished in 2018, the guest house offers double, twin, triple (double bed plus extra bed) and family rooms for up to four people. Standard double rooms are small - floor space is limited, so guests with more than a carry-on will find it hard to open suitcases inside the room. Superior Doubles provide significantly more room and a balcony with seating. The family room combines two single beds with a double or two singles. All rooms include free air conditioning, heating, soundproofing, a flat-screen smart TV, double USB ports, a private bathroom with hairdryer and diffuser, and ecological amenities. Superior Doubles also have a small fridge. Rooms facing the road can be less quiet, while interior rooms may have limited natural light. Daily cleaning and towel changes are provided.

Between 08:00 and 11:00 the reception serves complementary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies, fruit and lemon water - enough for a light start to the day but not a full cooked breakfast. A kettle with tea/coffee can be provided in the room upon request at no extra cost. There is no restaurant or bar in the building, but the surrounding streets are packed with eateries: within a 2-minute walk you will find Spanish, Asian, Argentinean and international restaurants, along with supermarkets and convenience stores.

While Hostal Central Barcelona lacks on-site wellness facilities, the surrounding area offers public parks and leisure activities. The nearby Arc de Triomf leads into a city park that is popular for walks. The beach is about 30 minutes on foot or a short metro ride. Board games are available from reception, and free beach towels can be borrowed for day trips to the coast.

Wi-Fi covers all areas at no charge. Check-in runs from 14:00 to 00:00 and check-out until 12:00. A luggage storage service is available for free until 15:00 on the departure day, giving time for last-minute sightseeing. The building has a lift, security alarm, CCTV in common areas, and key-card access. A laundry facility with coin-operated washers and dryers is directly opposite the property. Strollers can be provided, and a baby pushchair is available. For families, cots can be added for €10 per night, and a baby chair is free of charge.
