Set in a 15th-century building near the Medici Chapels, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Train Station, where the T2 tram from the airport arrives. The Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and Ponte Vecchio are all reachable on foot within 10-15 minutes. The area is safe and packed with restaurants, bars, and shops - Trattoria Za Za, Trattoria Mario, and many other dining spots are within a few blocks. For drivers, Garage il Giglio is right next door, offering secure parking with ZTL (limited traffic zone) access for €35 per day.

All rooms have free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, minibar, and toiletries. Most rooms are en suite, though some single rooms are very compact. The junior suites are larger and may include a separate seating area or city views. A small number of rooms have a balcony or garden view. Note that some rooms lack an exterior window (only a transom above the door) - check the room type before booking. Frescoes are a highlight, giving many rooms a museum-like atmosphere. Bed quality varies: some mattresses are comfortable, while others are very firm or sagging. Noise from thin walls and street-facing rooms can be an issue; lighter sleepers may want earplugs. The hotel has a lift.

Breakfast is available from 8:00 to 10:00 and costs €7 per person. It includes croissants or cake, yogurt, fruit juice, and coffee - all served to the table in a small dining area.
