HOTEL LE DUE FONTANE, Florence

Hotel Le Due Fontane occupies a neoclassical building on one of Florence's most beautiful Renaissance squares, providing direct access to the historic centre while avoiding the busiest tourist crowds. The Duomo is a 5-7-minute walk, the Accademia Gallery is 200 metres away, and the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio can be reached in 10-15 minutes on foot. Santa Maria Novella train station is about 1 km away (a 15-minute walk), and the T2 tram line (San Marco Università stop) is just 200 metres from the hotel, offering a direct connection to the airport for €1.70. The square itself can be lively at night, especially on Thursdays when students gather, which may affect sleep quality in street-facing rooms. The area is well served by restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket nearby.

The daily breakfast is served in a dedicated breakfast room and includes a generous selection of sweet pastries (croissants, cakes), savoury items (cheese, Tuscan salami, bread), fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereals. A barista prepares cappuccinos, espressos, and fresh orange juice. There is a gluten-free option with biscuits and brioches. The buffet does not include hot food. Service during breakfast is generally friendly, though the atmosphere can be noisy when staff clear tables. The hotel has a bar/lounge area open during the day but does not have a restaurant or evening dining. Numerous restaurants, pizzerias, and cafés are within a 5-minute walk on the surrounding streets.

The hotel does not have a spa, swimming pool, gym, or sauna. The property offers a terrace and a minimarket on site for convenience. For leisure, the Accademia Gallery (200 m) and the Duomo (7 min walk) are exceptionally close, and the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, and other major attractions are within a short walking distance. The surrounding Piazza SS. Annunziata itself is a notable Renaissance landmark and often hosts temporary art galleries in the area.

WiFi is available throughout the property free of charge, but can be slow or unreliable; some guests have reported poor connectivity. A 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, tour desk, private check-in/check-out, and invoice provision. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out at no extra charge. Valet parking is offered at a nearby garage for €35 per day (standard car; SUV/van €50) - guests can drive directly to the hotel to unload, then an employee takes the car. Electric vehicle charging station and accessible parking are available. Other services include daily housekeeping, fax/photocopying, vending machines (drinks), and a minimarket on site. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, security alarm, key card access, and a safety deposit box in rooms. The building has an elevator (accessible after 5 steps). Pets are allowed with no extra charge.
