KOKO HOTEL UENO STATION, Tokyo

The hotel sits in central Tokyo, a 500-metre walk from Ueno Station (JR and Metro lines) and the Keisei Ueno Skyliner terminal, providing direct 41-minute access to Narita Airport. Ueno Park, with its museums and zoo, is also within a few minutes' walk. The lively Ameyoko market street, numerous izakayas, convenience stores, and shopping areas are right outside the door. The surrounding area is busy in the evening but becomes quiet later at night. Asakusa and Akihabara are within a 20-minute walk or short train ride. The hotel's entrance may be less obvious; look for it near the main road.

Rooms are standard business-hotel size for Tokyo (10-14 m²). The Economy Double is slightly larger and has a bigger window than the Small Double. All rooms include a private bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, hairdryer, and slippers, along with an electric kettle, refrigerator, carpeted floor, and in-room safe. Rooms on higher floors offer city views; some upper-floor rooms can see the Tokyo Skytree. Rooms facing the road may receive some street noise, but the building has reasonable soundproofing. The bed frame has space underneath to store a carry-on suitcase, which helps manage the limited floor space. There are no rooms with a balcony, no connecting rooms, no closets in some rooms. Note that rooms are tight for two people; for longer stays, a larger room type is recommended.

The hotel does not currently serve breakfast on-site. Breakfast vouchers valid at a nearby café (Doutor) can be purchased at the front desk for ¥1,100. The 2nd-floor guest lounge has free soft drinks and a microwave, and there is a vending machine with cheap drinks. The surrounding area has a vast choice of restaurants, izakayas, and convenience stores within a 2-5 minute walk, including yakitori, okonomiyaki, and Japanese chain restaurants.

There is no spa, sauna, swimming pool, or gym on site. The hotel's 2nd-floor lounge provides free soft drinks and a space to relax. Ueno Park (with museums, a zoo, and walking paths) and Ameyoko market are just a short walk away, providing ample leisure options outside the property.

Free WiFi is available throughout. The 24-hour front desk offers currency exchange, lockers, and luggage storage (free until 2pm on checkout day, then ¥1000 per item). Coin-operated laundry (washer ¥200, dryer ¥100) is on the 2nd floor, with a limited number of machines. A safety deposit box is provided in each room. The entrance locks after midnight; late arrivals should use the intercom for access. The hotel is wheelchair accessible via elevator. Pets are not allowed. The property is fully non-smoking.
