HOTEL MIRABELL BY MAIER PRIVATHOTELS, Munich

The hotel sits in a central but lively area steps from the main train station, where all U-Bahn, S-Bahn and tram lines converge. Direct S1/S8 trains reach the airport in 40 minutes, and the U2 line connects to the exhibition grounds in 25 minutes. Marienplatz, the Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualienmarkt are within a 10- to 15-minute walk, and the Oktoberfest is 5 minutes away. The immediate surroundings include kebab shops, convenience stores and a mix of late-night venues; the streets can feel less inviting after dark, particularly for solo female visitors. For daytime exploration, the walk to the historic core is straightforward, and public transport options are abundant.

Superior rooms (with bathtub) and Comfort rooms (21 m2, desk, sofa) offer clean lines and soundproof windows. Loft S (15 m2) and Loft M (12 m2) feature urban design with Marshall radios and bold accents. Premium rooms (19 m2) add extra space and textiles. The Studio (17 m2, top floor) has an open shower and views toward Frauenkirche. The 23 m2 Suite includes a separate living area, desk, fridge, safe and a private rooftop terrace. All rooms have air conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe and hairdryer. There are no kettles in the rooms; complimentary coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the lobby. Room sizes are accurate but some units - especially loft categories - feel compact for two people with large luggage. Noise insulation is effective when windows are closed, but street-facing rooms can pick up traffic and nightlife noise. A few steps lead to the elevator, which serves floors 1-6.

WiFi is free throughout the property. On-site parking costs €19 per day and must be reserved; the garage is accessed via a car lift and is best suited for compact cars. Luggage storage is free and can be used before check-in and after check-out (within reception hours 08:00-23:00); bags can be held for multiple days when staying on either side. The business workspace (by request) includes a desk for eight, flipchart and flatscreen TV. The 24/7 coffee and tea bar in the lobby is complimentary. A mini-market with snacks, drinks and travel essentials is open around the clock (items are paid). Laundry service is available through an external partner for a fee; there is a self-service laundromat nearby. The lift serves floors 1-6 but requires climbing a few steps from ground level. Safety features include CCTV, key card access and a safe deposit box. Pets are not allowed. The hotel is adults only.
