HOTEL MODERNO PUERTA DEL SOL, Madrid

Sol station (metro and Cercanías) is steps away, giving direct access to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport via the C-3 or C-4 train (one ticket change, total under €4). A taxi from the airport costs a fixed €30 and takes roughly 20 minutes, but the hotel is on a pedestrian-only street - taxis will drop you about a 3-minute walk away. From the hotel, Plaza Mayor is a 2-minute walk, the Royal Palace is 6 minutes, the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum is 10 minutes, and the Prado and Reina Sofía museums are a 14-minute walk. The Sol area is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and nightlife, making it an ideal base for tourism and business.

All rooms feature double-glazed windows, air conditioning, free satellite TV, free safe, electric kettle, and private bathroom with hairdryer (some with bathtub). Standard single rooms are 8m2, double rooms are 10m2 with a 150cm double bed, triple rooms are 18m2, and quad rooms are 24m2. Terrace rooms (14m2) offer private outdoor space with views of Arenal or Tetuán Street. Interior rooms tend to be very quiet, while street-facing rooms may pick up some city noise despite double glazing. A fridge can be provided on request at reception. Rooms are cleaned daily; housekeeping is prompt. Some rooms may feel cramped for three or four adults, and luggage space in smaller rooms is limited.

Breakfast costs €14 per person and is served from 07:00 to 10:30. The buffet includes homemade fruit salads, cakes, cheeses, cured meats, and gluten-free items. A variety of hot and cold drinks are available, including fresh coffee. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner, but the Puerta del Sol area is packed with restaurants, tapas bars, and cafés within a 2-minute walk. Room service for drinks is available. Alternatively, the hotel offers a luggage storage service and 24-hour reception, so guests can easily explore the city for meals.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The 24-hour front desk provides multilingual service (Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese), concierge, and tour desk. Luggage storage is free on arrival and departure days. The hotel has two lifts and two meeting rooms with natural light (capacity up to 25 people). Additional services include laundry, dry-cleaning, and ironing (all with surcharge), as well as a shared lounge with TV. No parking is available on-site, but public parking is nearby.
