The hostel is located in the heart of Madrid's museum district, just steps from Atocha train, metro and bus station, making airport and city travel straightforward. The Prado and Reina Sofia museums are within walking distance, and the botanical garden is close by. Retiro Park is a short walk. The area is well served by metro lines (Estación del Arte and Palos de la Frontera) and bus routes, including direct airport connections. The immediate neighbourhood has numerous restaurants, cafes and shops. Street noise can be heard on lower floors facing the main road, but windows and shutters block sound effectively.

The property offers a range of room types: private double, twin, triple, quadruple rooms and suites, plus 4, 6, 7 and 8-bed dormitories. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet - the bathrooms are inside the room, which can produce noise when used at night. Dormitories have bunk beds with privacy curtains, reading lights and lockers (you need your own padlock). Storage under the bed is spacious but may not fit large suitcases. Suites are significantly larger, have a bigger bed and four balconies. Rooms are modern and clean but basic - there are no chairs, tables, or storage beyond the lockers. Air conditioning works well. Rooms can feel cramped when fully occupied. Some dormitories have no windows. Room cleaning is not automatic every day and must be requested.

CAFE LA PLATA offers a breakfast buffet (available from 8:00 to 11:00) with continental options including pastries, fruit, yogurt, and coffee. A takeaway breakfast can be arranged for early departures if requested the day before. The restaurant serves a diverse menu covering Peruvian, Argentinian, Portuguese, Spanish, local, international and Latin American cuisines, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. A snack bar and coffee shop are also on site. The bar offers a selection of drinks and a daily happy hour. A welcome drink is provided to hostel guests. Those staying at the hostel receive a discount on food and drinks.
