The hotel is in Marineterrein, a park-like area on the water's edge, providing a peaceful retreat within walking distance of the city centre. Dam Square and Rembrandtplein are both 2 km away, reachable on foot in about 20 minutes. The cruise ship terminal is a 14-minute walk, and Amsterdam Central Station is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride. Bus 48 stops directly outside, taking you to Central Station in 2 stops. Schiphol Airport is 13 km away. A hop-on hop-off bus stop is also nearby. The area is safe to walk at night.

Rooms range from single to family rooms (up to 3 beds). Standard doubles are 15-17 m2. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, and free toiletries. Some rooms have garden views, while others overlook the water. There is no air conditioning - fans are provided. Heating is available, but some radiators can be noisy. Each floor has a communal tea and coffee station. Beds are comfortable, and twin beds are separated. No rooms have a balcony or bathtub. The lift is available but slow.

The Pension Homeland restaurant and bar is open daily from 07:00 to 23:00 (until 00:00 Thursday-Saturday). It serves breakfast (à la carte or continental, €21 extra), brunch, lunch, and dinner. The menu includes seafood, local dishes, and house-brewed beers. Live music is held every Thursday. There is a terrace overlooking the water, and the bar can get busy with locals.
