HOTEL VAN GOGH, Amsterdam

The hotel sits in the Museum Quarter, directly opposite the Van Gogh Museum and a minute from the Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum. Vondelpark and the high-end shopping street P.C. Hooftstraat are around the corner. Tram stops (lines 2 and 12) are steps away, and bus line 397 runs to Schiphol Airport in about 20 minutes. The area is residential and quiet at night, with a supermarket, several restaurants and cafés within a short walk. The city centre is around 20 minutes on foot or a tram ride.

Accommodation includes Single, Double, Twin and Quadruple rooms, each with a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, safe, tea and coffee maker, and a seating area. Room sizes vary: single rooms are compact but functional, while some double and family rooms offer more space. Lower-floor rooms may feel darker and noisier from the street or school playground. Upper-floor rooms are quieter and can have views. The lift serves all floors, though it is small. The decor features original Van Gogh wall murals, giving the rooms a unique design character.

The hotel serves a continental buffet breakfast in a dedicated dining area. The selection includes bread, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, coffee and tea. The quality is considered adequate for the price, though the variety is limited. For guests wanting a fuller meal, several restaurants and cafés serving Dutch and international cuisine are within a 3-minute walk. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but vending machines for drinks and snacks are available in the hotel.

The hotel does not have a spa, swimming pool, sauna or gym. For leisure, guests can rent a bicycle at reception and explore Amsterdam's canals, parks and museums. Vondelpark, the city's largest park, is around the corner. The Museumplein square, with its ice rink in winter and open-air events, is a minute away.
