This means a 2-minute walk from the main railway and tram hub, with Schiphol Airport reachable in a 15-minute train ride (€5). Most of the city's central attractions-the Anne Frank House, Royal Palace, Dam Square, the Red Light District, and the canal rings-are within a 10-to-20-minute walk. The immediate area is lively, with pubs, theatres, and dozens of restaurants (including Pancakes Amsterdam Centraal and Loetje Centraal) within a few hundred metres. For those arriving from the cruise docks, tram 26 runs directly to Central Station in 5 minutes. Cars cannot drive directly to the hotel; access requires a 15-minute drive around the city centre, and parking is only available at a nearby public garage (Oosterdok parking). The hotel is also within 45 minutes of the Keukenhof flower gardens by public transport.

The hotel offers single, double/twin, triple, quadruple, and quintuple rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms featuring a bath or shower (some with shower-over-bath combinations). Rooms are generally spacious by Amsterdam standards, particularly the larger family rooms, but many show signs of age-old carpets, dated furniture, and soft flooring. Most rooms have windows facing the street or square, offering views of Central Station, but a few single rooms look out onto a small courtyard. Road-facing rooms can be very noisy due to tram lines and street-level bars, and there is no air conditioning, so on warm nights sleeping with the window open means accepting the noise. Rooms in the annex buildings are only accessible via narrow, steep stairs, while the main building has a lift (though some rooms within it still have steps up/down within the room). All rooms lack tea/coffee-making facilities, fridges, and kettles. Hairdryers are available from reception upon request. The hotel can provide a free baby cot. Bedding is generally comfortable, though some room configurations use twin beds pushed together as a double, which may separate during the night.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and served from 7:30 to 10:30 daily (coffee can be provided from 6:30 for early departures).
