RESIDENCE INN BY MARRIOTT CANCUN HOTEL ZONE, Cancun

The hotel sits on the quieter, less developed end of the Hotel Zone, about 12-15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes by car from the main hotel zone attractions. The closest beach (Playa Delfines) is a 5-minute drive, but there is no on-site beach access. Walking to restaurants, shops, or bus stops is not practical - the nearest bus stop is over 2 km away. Uber and taxis are readily available at the property for trips to the city centre (about $10-$15) or major landmarks such as Wet 'n Wild Cancun (4 km) and El Rey Mayan Ruins (6 km). The area is best suited to guests with a rental car, as free on-site parking is available and the hotel-zone shuttle has limited hours and days.

All suites feature air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a tea and coffee maker. Kitchen amenities include a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, and oven - suitable for self-catering. Room sizes are large, with separate seating and dining areas. Many rooms have a balcony with sea views, though some face the parking lot or a nearby highway. The air conditioning is centrally controlled but fan speed is adjustable; some rooms may not cool evenly. Noise from the road or from the breakfast prep area (which can trigger the fire alarm) has been noted. Units are well soundproofed, but light sleepers may prefer a room away from the street. Adjoining rooms are available upon request at the front desk, subject to availability.

Breakfast is an American-style buffet included in most rates, offering hot and cold items such as eggs, pancakes, fruit, pastries, and Mexican specialties. The selection is adequate but can become repetitive, and the area gets very crowded between 8:00 and 9:30 AM. Food may run out near closing time, and the buffet is cleared at 10:00 AM sharp. Outside breakfast hours, the rooftop snack bar (Pick&Chill) serves burgers, tacos, burritos, and other light meals from 12:00 to 17:30. Service can be slow, especially when busy. A minimarket on site sells snacks and drinks but at higher prices. The property does not have a full-service restaurant; for more variety, guests typically Uber to the main hotel zone (several options within a 10-15 minute drive).

Wi-Fi is free and reliable in all areas. Parking is free and does not require a reservation, with accessible spots available. The 24-hour front desk can assist with tour bookings, currency exchange (ATM on site), and luggage storage. Daily housekeeping is provided but may need to be requested at the front desk to ensure consistency. Laundry services are available for an additional charge (about $8 per load). The business centre offers free fax/photocopying and a free computer; meeting facilities are available for a fee. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, with accessible rooms available upon request. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, fire alarms, and a safety deposit box at reception. Pets are allowed with possible charges.
