The airport bus (Airlink 100) stops about five minutes from the hostel, making airport transfers straightforward. Street noise from Royal Mile traffic, nearby pubs, and the surrounding nightlife is a consistent factor; free earplugs are available at reception. Bars, cafés, restaurants, and clubs are immediately adjacent, providing extensive dining and entertainment options within a few steps.

Rooms are compact (from 10 m2) and offer bunk beds with comfortable mattresses and individual reading lamps. Lockers are provided free with keys. All bathrooms are shared - there are no private en-suite facilities. The property has separate female-only and mixed bathroom blocks. Dormitories can feel small and may lack storage surfaces; rooms directly above a pub (e.g., Gotham City) experience live music noise until midnight. Windows offer little soundproofing, and some rooms have limited ventilation, requiring a trade-off between fresh air and street noise during warm weather. The hostel provides free earplugs to help with sleeping comfort.

Breakfast is a continental-style buffet with cereals, toast, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea, offered at the High Street Hostel just a few steps away. The main hostel does not have its own restaurant, but a well-equipped 24-hour shared kitchen allows self-catering. Free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are available in the hostel at all times. Discount vouchers for nearby food and drink outlets are provided on check-in. Dozens of restaurants, cafés, and takeaways line the Royal Mile and surrounding streets, offering a wide range of cuisines within a two-minute walk.
