The hostel sits in Edinburgh's West End, facing Haymarket rail and tram station. The Airlink 100 airport bus stops just metres away, providing a direct route to and from the airport in around 30 minutes. It is a 10-minute walk to Princes Street and the Royal Mile, and about 20 minutes on foot to Murrayfield Stadium. Supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants are within a few minutes' walk. The area scores 8.8 for location, reflecting its convenience for both transport and sightseeing.

Rooms range from 3-bed private rooms to 21-bed dormitories with two- or three-tier bunks. Every room has shared bathroom facilities on each floor. The Victorian building provides large windows and high ceilings, and some rooms feature artwork by Jade Carrera. Beds are modern but can be cramped; larger dorms have individual power sockets, while smaller ones share charging space. Lockers are available in 18- and 21-bed dorms and require a coin. Carpeted floors and heating are standard, but ventilation can be poor, and street-facing rooms may experience traffic noise. No balconies or private bathrooms are available.

The shared kitchen includes two ovens, a stove, fridge, microwave, kettle, and utensils. Complimentary tea and coffee are provided during kitchen opening hours. Breakfast may be offered as an optional add-on depending on the room type booked. The kitchen closes at 23:00 and reopens at 08:00, so plan meals accordingly. Numerous restaurants, cafes, and takeaway options are within a few minutes' walk of the hostel.

The hostel offers a variety of leisure activities in the common areas. A games room is available, and free movie nights are held regularly. The lounge has board games and puzzles, and the outdoor terrace features garden furniture - a popular spot for socialising when weather permits. There is no spa, pool, or fitness centre on site. The atmosphere encourages interaction, with occasional group events such as pub trivia.

WiFi is accessible in all areas. Laundry service costs £8 for wash and dry, with a two-hour turnaround if dropped in the morning. Luggage storage is free during the stay and after checkout until 22:00; bags can be dropped before check-in. Reception is open 14:00-00:00; after closing, key card access allows entry.
