THE HOSTEL, Edinburgh

The Hostel provides various room options, including beds in 18-bed mixed dormitories, 21-bed mixed dormitories, and 6-bed female-only dormitories. Certain units include a seating area. Bedrooms feature original artworks by Jade Carrera, modern bunk beds, and fresh bedding. All guestrooms offer free WiFi. Rooms have carpeted floors and heating. Bathrooms are shared and include a shower and a hairdryer.

Guests are required to show a form of photo identification such as a passport, driving license, residency cards, or European ID cards upon check-in. The hostel features concierge services, luggage storage, laundry facilities, and tour/ticket assistance. Guests can make use of a communal lounge with digital TV and prepare meals in the shared/communal kitchen. The Hostel provides a terrace, a garden, and a library. There is a pleasant outdoor area with tables and chairs. The Hostel's Reception, Lounge, Garden and Kitchen are available daily from 8:00 to 23:00. All requests after 23:00 must ring the night bell for attention. Guests who repeatedly fail to clean up after themselves face a warning, banning from the communal areas, and ultimately removal from the hostel.

The Hostel includes a bar and a television in a common area. Guests can find a glorious selection of bars and restaurants nearby. The Hostel offers a great party night with friends. Loch Ness and Highlands tours can be booked at the reception.

The Hostel is in the heart of Haymarket, Edinburgh, directly opposite Haymarket train station. It is on the main bus route and tram route into the city center from Edinburgh Airport. A frequent bus service also operates from the airports. Trains to Edinburgh arrive at the cities famous Waverley Station which is around a 25 minute walk from The Hostel. If you are approaching from Glasgow then you can depart the service to Edinburgh at Haymarket station and The Hostel is located directly opposite. It's a 10-minute walk to Princes Street, and the popular Grassmarket area is an easy 15-minute stroll away. Edinburgh Castle also plays hosts to many concerts at the Castle during the month of July. Other international flights to Scotland may land at Glasgow which is approximately 50 miles away from where you can also hire a car.

The nearest 24-hour NCP car park is located at Castle Terrace, approximately a 20-minute walk from The Hostel. Rates are currently £26 for between 7 to 24 hours for overnight parking. Metered parking bays in the streets surrounding The Hostel charge £3.20 per hour for a maximum of 4 hours parking, between the hours of 8.30am & 6.30pm.
