The property sits at the quiet, southeastern corner of Rocky Point, directly on Old Tampa Bay. It is 6 km from TPA, a 10-minute drive to downtown Tampa, and 15 minutes to Ybor City, the Port of Tampa, and historic Hyde Park. Busch Gardens is 24 km away; the Gulf Coast beaches are a 25-minute drive. There is no public transport within walking distance, and the surrounding area has few shops - you will need a car for groceries or gas. The property offers free covered parking and a gated entrance, making it practical for drivers. A complimentary shuttle runs on the island and to the airport, but not to off-site attractions.

One-bedroom suites have a queen bed in a private bedroom plus a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Deluxe one-bedroom suites sleep up to 4, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen bed in the living room. Two-bedroom suites have two private bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a queen sofa sleeper, ideal for families or groups. All suites have plush pillow-top mattresses, full kitchens (fridge with ice maker, stove, microwave, dishwasher), cable TV with HBO, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Some units feel dated - furniture, carpet, and bathtubs may show wear, and cleanliness can vary between privately owned units. Rooms on the corridor side can be noisy from hallway traffic. Big Bamboo Bayside is a full-service restaurant with an American menu featuring fish tacos, BBQ, burgers, Cuban sandwiches, and sorbet in a natural fruit shell. Several other restaurants are within a short walk on Rocky Point, including The Rusty Pelican and Whiskey Joe's. The fishing pier extends over the bay and the front desk provides complimentary rods and tackle in exchange for an ID. The outdoor fitness centre, 'Fitness Island', is free to use. There is also a beach volleyball court, a fire pit, and BBQ grills. No spa or wellness centre is available on site. The pool area can get busy on weekends; arriving early helps to secure a lounger. The property also has a sunset patio with seating for quiet relaxation.
