SHINAGAWA TOBU HOTEL, Tokyo

The hotel is a 7-10 minute walk from the Takanawa Exit of JR Shinagawa Station, which connects to Shinkansen bullet trains, the Yamanote Line, and the Keikyu Line for Haneda Airport (20-minute ride). Narita Airport is a 90-minute train journey. The uphill approach from the station can be strenuous with heavy luggage, making a taxi (about 500 JPY one-way) a practical alternative. Nearby, there are numerous restaurants and cafés, and a 7-Eleven is directly across the street. Shinagawa Station itself has a shopping centre and dining options. The area is business-oriented and relatively quiet at night.

Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:30 as a buffet with Western options such as scrambled eggs, bread, soup, cereal, fruit, and drinks. Items like scrambled eggs and potatoes require a coupon. The breakfast menu is fixed and does not change daily, which may feel repetitive for longer stays. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves Tuscan Italian cuisine. Guests who prefer more variety can explore the many restaurants and cafés within a short walk of the hotel.

The hotel offers full-body massage services for a fee. There is no spa, swimming pool, or gym on site. The second-floor guest lounge provides free coffee and tea, and is a comfortable space to relax between activities.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk assists with check-in, luggage storage (free before check-in and after check-out on the same day), and luggage forwarding via Yamato Transport. Daily room cleaning is standard, and guests can request an earlier cleaning by hanging a tag. A coin-operated laundry room on the second floor has two washer-dryer units (500 JPY per cycle) and a vending machine for drinks and snacks. The guest lounge also has a microwave. An on-site currency exchange machine is available. Safety deposit boxes are at the front desk. The hotel has a lift, designated smoking area, and is non-smoking throughout. Parking is limited and unreserved (1800 JPY/day).
