The Cornell Inn sits on four landscaped acres at the edge of Lenox, with direct garden access to Kennedy Park for easy hiking. Lenox's downtown restaurants, shops, and galleries are a 10-15 minute walk downhill, though the return includes a steep uphill. Tanglewood is a 5-minute drive, and the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum and Bouquet Ski Area are 10 minutes away. The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge is about 15 minutes by car. Free private parking is available on site without reservation, but there is no airport shuttle. The location is best suited for those with a car, though walkable to town for capable pedestrians.

The inn offers 28 rooms across three buildings: the main inn, a carriage house, and a separate building. Room sizes vary significantly; some are spacious with comfortable beds, while others are notably small. All rooms include air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower (no bathtubs), a flat-screen TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Superior queen rooms and suites often feature a fireplace, with duraflame logs provided only from November to March. Some suites have kitchens or kitchenettes, and a few rooms have balconies with rocking chairs. Due to the historic building, rooms are not soundproof; road-facing rooms can be noisy. Some rooms have windows that do not open, requiring reliance on air conditioning for ventilation. Lighting may be controlled by an unfamiliar handheld remote in certain rooms. The property is not wheelchair-accessible except for first-floor rooms and ADA-compliant units with ramp access.

Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 in the dining room or on the outdoor deck overlooking the gardens and koi pond. The menu changes daily and includes several hot dishes, fresh pastries, fruit, and coffee/espresso drinks. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available upon request. Outside of breakfast hours, complimentary brownies, cookies, and pastries are available throughout the day, and a self-serve tea/hot chocolate station is accessible 24/7. In the afternoon, sangria or spiced cider is offered seasonally, and in the evening there is a cognac tasting with ice cream. There is no full restaurant on site, but the inn provides a list of nearby Lenox restaurants within walking distance or a short drive.

The property has a large outdoor deck with seating near the koi pond and waterfall, as well as a picnic area, outdoor fireplace, and garden furniture. Kennedy Park connects directly to the gardens, offering walking and hiking trails. For additional activities, a golf course is within 3 km (additional charge), horseback riding can be arranged off-site, and pub crawls are available in Lenox (additional charge). Board games and puzzles are available on site. There is no swimming pool, spa, or fitness center.

The inn offers free private parking on site without reservation. WiFi is free in all areas, though coverage may be weaker in the carriage house. The 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage, private check-in/check-out, and local recommendations. Housekeeping is not automatic; guests need to request it at reception if they want daily service.
