The immediate square is quiet, but the hotel sits directly above Tube tracks, so expect train rumble and vibration in rooms.

Room sizes vary from very small single occupancy to family rooms with multiple beds, but many are extremely compact-some described as 6 m² or barely enough for a double bed and one person to stand. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer; a few bathrooms have been recently refurbished. Facilities include a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, tea and coffee, fridge, and ironing board. The listed soundproofing is present, but it does not block Tube noise, and walls are thin. Some rooms have no window or face an internal lightwell. The property is old and dated: wardrobes are basic metal racks, some light switches and fabrics show wear, and cleaning standards vary. Space for luggage is minimal; many rooms lack a table and chair for eating or working. Rooms on lower floors are quieter and cooler, while upper rooms involve steep stairs and can be hot (no air conditioning, fan provided).

There is no dining room; breakfast is served each morning outside your door at a chosen time. The selection is pre-packaged and not freshly made-croissants, brioche rolls, biscuits, a yoghurt, a drink, and butter/jam. Tea and coffee can be made in the room with provided kettle and supplies. No hot dishes (e.g. full English) are available. Breakfast items can be saved for later in the day. The surrounding streets have a wide choice of restaurants (Italian, steakhouse, pub food, fish and chips, café) all within a few minutes' walk.

Cycle hire is available at an additional charge-handy for exploring Hyde Park and central London. Table tennis is free and located on site (likely in the garden/picnic area). The nearest green space is Hyde Park, five minutes away, ideal for jogging, walking, or relaxing. The hotel is on a garden square with a small park opposite.
