AKIHABARA BAY HOTEL, Tokyo

The 3-minute walk to Akihabara Station provides access to JR lines and the Tsukuba Express, reaching Asakusa in 13 minutes and Shinjuku or Ikebukuro in about 20 minutes by train and walk. The Akihabara electronics area is a 3-minute stroll away, and Kanda Shrine is 15 minutes on foot. Several convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Lawson) are within a block, and numerous restaurants (Yoshinoya, Gundam Cafe, Hidakaya) are 0.3-0.5 km from the property. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet side alley, so daytime noise levels are low, but the main shopping streets are easily reachable.

All capsules are equipped with a power outlet and a single USB port, a nightlight, a curtain for privacy, and a small shelf. Some units add a flat-screen TV. The pods are controlled for air conditioning and heating centrally, but the capsule ventilation fan is weak and does little to cool the interior on warm nights; a portable USB fan is recommended for summer. The mattress is thin (a firm pad over a hard board), which can be uncomfortable for side sleepers. Road noise is minimal due to the alley location, but internal noise from other capsules is audible-earplugs help. Lockers are in a separate narrow room on each floor, and large suitcases are stored in the lobby. Private shower booths and shared powder rooms are on the first floor.

There is no on-site restaurant and no meals served. The basement lounge provides a microwave, an electric kettle, drink vending machines, and a few tables with chairs for eating. Fresh daily pajamas and towels are included. Several convenience stores (Lawson, 7-Eleven) and casual restaurants (Yoshinoya, Katsuya, Caffe Veloce) are within a 5-minute walk, making self-catered breakfasts and dinners easy to arrange. The lounge is the only indoor eating space, so guests typically eat in their capsule or outside.

Wellness amenities are limited to shared shower booths with free high-quality toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, lotion, heat protectant, cotton pads, hair dryers) and a dedicated makeup vanity area on the first floor. The basement lounge has a TV (audio off) and vending machines but no other leisure facilities. Coin-operated washers and dryers are available in the shower room for laundry.

Free Wi-Fi covers the whole property. A 24-hour front desk handles check-in (from 16:00) and check-out (by 10:00). Luggage storage is offered at the lobby before check-in and after check-out, but large bags that do not fit in the narrow lockers must remain in the lobby. Lockers are sized for hand luggage only. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are available for an additional charge. There is one elevator, which can cause waits during peak times. Security includes 24-hour CCTV, key-fob entry to the building at night, and smoke alarms. Smoking is allowed only in the designated area on site. No parking is available.
