BLUESEA HOTEL LOS FISCOS, Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote)

The hotel sits at the top of a steep hill at the quieter western end of Puerto del Carmen, with fantastic sea views towards Fuerteventura. The harbour and old town are a 15-minute walk down a gentle slope, with many bars, restaurants and shops reachable within 10 minutes on foot. The main strip and main beach are about a 25-30 minute walk or a €4-€5 taxi ride. Taxis are plentiful and reception can call one for you; a taxi to the airport costs around €18-€20 and takes 10-15 minutes. The walk back up to the hotel is very steep, so taxis are recommended for the return journey. No public transport shuttle is provided.

All apartments feature a separate living area with satellite TV (mostly Spanish channels, one English Disney Channel), a small kitchenette with fridge, two-ring hob, kitchenware and sink - no microwave or kettle provided (kettle rental available). Beds are configured as either two singles or one double; a sofa bed is available in the living room. The bedrooms have limited plug sockets, very flat pillows and hard mattresses. Bathrooms have a bath or shower, but many have painted baths where the paint is peeling. The balcony or terrace offers sea or pool views. Air conditioning is not available; a fan can be hired. Some rooms have reports of damp smells, particularly from drains, and cleaning takes place every two days, with towel and linen changes on those days. Noise from the main road and from other apartments can be audible.

The restaurant provides a changing buffet menu with a mix of local and international dishes. Breakfast includes full English and continental options with hot and cold items. Lunch and dinner typically offer a selection of salads, pasta, rice, vegetables, fish, pork or chicken, and chips. A microwave is available for reheating. The pool bar serves snacks such as ham-and-cheese sandwiches from 11:00-11:00, as well as ice creams and crisps for purchase. All-inclusive drinks include water, soft drinks, beer (San Miguel), wine, sangria, spirits (whisky, gin, rum, vodka), coffee and tea, with a cocktail of the day. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available - let staff know on arrival. The dining area can feel crowded and noisy at peak times.

The large outdoor swimming pool is not heated and is open all year, with no shallow end - the depth drops steeply, making it unsuitable for non-swimmers and very young children. A separate small splash pool is available but still around 1 metre deep. The pool area opens at 10:00 and has a good number of sun loungers, though no parasols or umbrellas. A rooftop sun terrace provides additional lounging space. Daytime and evening entertainment is minimal - occasional live shows, but mostly quiet. A games room has a pool table (€2 per game), table tennis (free), and an air hockey table. A kids' club and playground are on-site, but the playground equipment has been described as basic. No spa or wellness centre is present.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, but the signal can be weak in some rooms - best reception near reception and public areas. Luggage storage is available in an unlocked cubicle behind reception (do not leave valuables). A tour desk can arrange bike and car rental. Laundry facilities (washing and drying machines) are available for a fee. A safety deposit box can be rented. The 24-hour front desk can call taxis and assist with late check-out requests (subject to availability). No airport shuttle or private transfer is provided. The property has no parking.
