COMFORT HOTEL XPRESS YOUNGSTORGET, Oslo

Room categories range from Compact Single (120cm bed) to XXL rooms sleeping up to 8 people with multiple bed configurations and a small fridge. Standard and Family rooms offer more floor space and a seating area. All rooms have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a TV with cable channels. Rooms tend to be small on storage: there are no wardrobes, only a few hangers, so packing light is advisable. Some rooms face inner courtyards or other rooms' windows, which limits natural light and privacy unless curtains are kept closed. The hotel has no air conditioning; a ventilation system is in place, and fans or portable heaters are available at reception. Noise from neighbours, the elevator, or street construction can be a factor, particularly in rooms near the lift or facing the street. Bed comfort varies: some find the mattresses soft, others firm. Compact rooms are best for short, solo stays; Standard or Family rooms suit longer visits or those needing more space.

The Barception and lobby shop operate around the clock, offering items like chicken wraps, paninis, salads, yogurt, croissants, and a range of drinks including coffee, tea, cocktails, and beer. Breakfast is available for purchase (30-95 NOK) and consists of items such as coffee, a croissant, or a breakfast bag - suitable for a quick start before heading out. The hotel does not serve a hot or buffet breakfast. A kettle is available in the common area for hot water. Because there is no in-room minibar or room service, the lobby shop is the primary dining option on site.

The fitness centre is equipped with cardio machines and strength-training equipment and is open 24 hours a day, accessible to all residents. The rooftop terrace, open from 6am to 11pm, provides city views and is a pleasant spot to relax. On the lower ground floor, there is a communal area with table tennis, board games, and a shared kitchen with microwave - useful for socialising or heating food. No swimming pool or spa facilities are available.

The hotel provides free WiFi throughout, with no password required. The reception is staffed 24/7, which makes late arrivals and early departures straightforward. Luggage storage is free of charge. A self-service laundromat is available; tokens cost 50 NOK for a wash or 90 NOK for wash and dry. Express check-in via lobby iPads is also an option. The hotel has lifts and offers accessible rooms. Pets are allowed on request (350 NOK one-off fee). The property is entirely non-smoking. Business travellers will find a copy machine and the XXL rooms can double as meeting spaces. The lower ground floor includes a shared kitchen with a microwave and a large communal lounge.
