The hostel is set on a bustling street at the edge of the Red Light District, putting major sights, nightlife, and bars right outside. Dam Square is reachable in 5 minutes on foot, Amsterdam Central Station in 5-7 minutes, providing direct train access to Schiphol Airport (20-25 minutes). Trams from Dam Square reach Museumplein in 10 minutes. The area is lively day and night, with concentrated noise from the street and nightlife, making it less suitable for those seeking a quiet sleep environment.

Accommodation is primarily in mixed-gender dormitories with metal-framed bunk beds; private rooms are available for 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, or 10 people. Most rooms share communal bathrooms on each floor, while a single 5-bed private room has its own bathroom. Rooms have individual lockers under each bed (bring your own lock or rent one for a €5 refundable deposit). Beds lack privacy curtains and top bunks are suited for sitting up. Rooms are compact and can feel cramped, particularly in larger dormitories. A noisy, fixed fan runs continuously; windows must be left open for ventilation, allowing street noise and aromas to enter. Heating reliability is an issue in colder months. Some reported rooms being very small and the stairs steep, without a lift.

The on-site Slaínte Irish Pub operates as the main dining option, offering a budget-friendly breakfast (€9) and meals throughout the day. The pub has 6 TVs, regular happy hours, a summer terrace, and a 15% discount on meals for those staying at the hostel. Special meals can be provided for dietary requirements. Hostel guests also get access to shared amenities: a microwave, kettle, and small fridge (no full kitchen or utensils). Numerous restaurants and snack bars are available within a few minutes' walk, notably Black Burger & Ribs, Wok to Walk, and others.

A 24-hour front desk handles check-in and provides concierge service and luggage storage. Luggage can be stored free of charge until 19:00 on the day of check-out. Housekeeping is provided free daily; the room-cleaning team works with a noisy approach at times. The hostel does not have a lift and dorm rooms are on upper floors (first to third) with steep stairs, which is problematic for heavy luggage or mobility concerns. Cash and card payment are accepted (Visa, MasterCard). Wi-Fi is free in rooms. There are no kitchen, laundry, or common lounge facilities aside from a small table-and-chairs area. Safety deposit boxes are available at reception.
