HOTEL STACHUS, Munich

The hotel sits at the start of Munich's longest shopping street, directly on a tram line and within 100 metres of the U-Bahn. Karlsplatz/Stachus station (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams) is less than a minute away, while Munich Central Station is 3-5 minutes on foot. Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus, and the historic centre are all reachable within a 15-minute walk. For Oktoberfest, Theresienwiese is about 2 km away. The area around the station is busy and can feel less polished at night, but offers excellent connections and a high density of shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Each room includes a private bathroom (some with an open shower inside the bedroom rather than a separate enclosure), heating, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV. Triple rooms have a double bed and a single bed (no sofa or bunk). Most rooms are carpeted; some have heated floors. Soundproofing between rooms is minimal, and street-facing rooms pick up tram noise. Rooms vary in size - some are compact (14 m² for singles) while others are spacious. There is no minibar, kettle, coffee maker, or glasses in the room; these can be requested from reception. Safety deposit boxes are available only at the front desk. Cots are free for children up to 3 years, and children's rates apply for 3-8 years (€8) and 9+ years (€16) - likely for breakfast or extra bed.

Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30 (until 11:00 on weekends) in a spacious dining room. The buffet includes various breads, pastries, cereals, eggs, fresh fruit, yoghurt, selected teas, juices, and freshly brewed coffee. A coffee shop next door provides a more budget-friendly alternative for breakfast.

The Mathäser cinema centre is adjacent to the hotel. Guided city tours depart from Stachus or the main station, and the hotel's reception can help arrange tickets. The pedestrianised shopping street starting at the hotel leads to Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt market. Oktoberfest (Theresienwiese) is 2 km away. For a more active day, the Englischer Garten is a 20-minute walk or short tram ride.

Services include concierge, tour desk, and invoice provision. Luggage storage is free both before check-in and after check-out, and the hotel can hold bags for guests departing for several days.
