The hotel sits in the heart of Barcelona's old town, steps from the main pedestrian boulevard. An Aldi supermarket is a 3-4 minute walk away, and the Boqueria Market is about 15 minutes on foot. The area is lively during the day and can feel more run-down late at night; returning after midnight may feel less safe than earlier hours. For airport transfers, a bus stop 5 minutes from the hotel and 24-hour taxis are practical options - no shuttle service is available. The metro line from Universitat gives direct access to Fira de Barcelona exhibition halls and other districts.

Room sizes vary significantly. Rooms on the interior courtyard tend to be dark and poorly ventilated - the courtyard has a roof, so even top-floor rooms get little fresh air. A room with an external window or a balcony is strongly recommended for light, airflow and comfort. Connecting rooms with thin walls are common; noise from adjacent rooms and hallway door slamming can affect sleep. The beds are either two twin mattresses pushed together (not a single topper) or a standard double - some find the mattresses hard. Bathrooms are modern but the shower screen is short, often leading to water on the floor. No fridge, minibar or kettle is provided. Daily housekeeping is included. Rooms are basic, clean and suit travellers who prioritise location over spaciousness.

The breakfast includes bread, pastries, cold meats, cheese, eggs, yoghurt, cereals, fruit, toast and hot drinks. Coffee is available during breakfast as well as from the in-room capsule machine. The hot tub operates 365 days a year, even in winter, and holds a maximum of three people. Water temperature can be warm rather than hot, but it is a pleasant way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hot tub is open from 8:00 to 22:00 - check closing times if you plan a late-evening dip.
