Cuatro Naciones sits at the heart of Barcelona's most famous boulevard. Barcelona Cathedral is a 10-minute walk away, and the Gothic Quarter - with its narrow streets, bars and restaurants - is 5 minutes on foot. The cruise port is about 3 km (10 minutes by taxi), and Drassanes Metro station provides direct connections to the airport (from Terminal 2) and all major sights. Taxis are plentiful along Las Ramblas (airport transfer around €35). The hotel is also a short walk from Barceloneta beach and the city's old port. Note that ongoing street construction on Las Ramblas may affect kerbside pick-up/drop-off, but access on foot remains easy. The nearest supermarket and a plaza with cafés are around the corner.

Rooms range from single and twin/double to triple, quadruple and family configurations. Each has a private bathroom (with bath or shower, bidet, hairdryer, and some with hand-held shower), a wardrobe, a safety deposit box, and a small refrigerator. Flooring is either parquet or tile. Some rooms offer a balcony - typically small but usable for fresh air - while many look onto an inner courtyard, which provides significantly more quiet than Las Ramblas-facing rooms. Road-facing rooms may be very noisy due to street activity and metro vibrations that can be felt through the building. Mattresses vary: some are firm or uneven, and a number of reports note discomfort, especially in older rooms. The overall style is basic and functional - furnishings are simple and some decor is dated. Daily housekeeping is included and cleans the room thoroughly. Rooms with a balcony or terrace (some with city views) are available but subject to availability. Light sleepers should prioritise a courtyard-facing room.

Breakfast is available for an additional charge (included in many rates) and runs from 07:00. The buffet includes bread, croissants, toast, jam, cheese, ham, boiled or scrambled eggs, a potato frittata, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, and coffee/tea. Gluten-free and dairy-free options can be requested at breakfast. The breakfast room is small and can feel crowded, but the staff are attentive and friendly. There is no restaurant on site for lunch or dinner, and no bar (only a vending machine for drinks). The Gothic Quarter, a 5-minute walk away, offers dozens of restaurants, including Colom, Los Caracoles, and Louro, all within 0.5 km. For light meals or snacks, the hotel sells large bottles of water at reception and a convenience supermarket is just around the corner.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout and a 24-hour front desk that can arrange taxis, answer questions, and hold luggage before check-in or after check-out at no charge. There is a lift, though a few rooms are accessible only via a short flight of steps after the lift.
