HG LOMO BLANCO, Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote)

Set on a hillside near Lanzarote's south coast, the complex sits between the lively beachfront strip and the quieter old town. Playa de Puerto del Carmen Beach is a short downhill walk of about 200 metres, while the old town, with its shops, restaurants and banks, lies 700 metres away. A shopping centre is 300 metres from the property. The beachfront strip can be reached in about 5 minutes via steps, but the return walk is uphill - taxis from the strip cost approximately €3-5. The car park lift inside the SOCA shopping centre provides an easier route back. Arrecife Airport is 10 km, roughly a 10-15 minute drive. Free public parking is available on nearby streets.

The property's restaurant, Restaurante Lomo Blanco, offers a buffet breakfast at €8.50 per adult and €5.45 per child, covering continental and hot options. Dinner runs from 18:30 to 21:30 with a menu of fish, meat, pasta and vegetable dishes; a popular Wednesday BBQ night is available at around €15 per person (book a day ahead). The poolside snack bar operates from 10:00 to 18:00, serving sandwiches, pizzas, baguettes, chips and ice creams, plus cocktails and soft drinks. The main bar is open until 24:00. Gluten-free options are not specifically catered for. Breakfast is often described as adequate, with the pool bar's cooked options preferred by some.

The complex features three outdoor heated freshwater pools: a main pool (alongside a small kids' pool), and a quieter pool near Block B. Pool temperatures are set around 26°C, though weather can affect the final temperature. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided free of charge, but towels cannot be reserved - sunbed availability in peak season is best before 10:00. A solarium, fitness centre, and games room with table tennis are available. Paid wellness services include back, head, foot, hand, neck and full body massages, as well as beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, facials, body wraps and waxing. An on-site shop offers barber/beauty services. Car hire and bicycle rental can be arranged at reception.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. A 24-hour front desk can assist with currency exchange, tour desk services, and car or bicycle rental. Luggage storage is free of charge. The property has a lift serving the main blocks, and ground-floor apartments can be requested for wheelchair users - adapted units are available. A laundry room on site costs €4 per wash. Safety deposit boxes are available for an additional fee, and an iron and ironing board can be borrowed from reception against a €5 deposit. Housekeeping typically runs 5 days per week and includes bin emptying and bed making. The complex has CCTV, smoke alarms, and key access for security.
