ONEFAM OLD TOWN, Prague

The hostel lies in the heart of the Old Town, with all major attractions easily reachable on foot: Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are within 9-12 minutes, while Prague Castle is an 18-minute walk. Public transport is also nearby: the nearest metro and tram stations are just a short walk away, connecting the area to the rest of the city and the airport. A wide variety of bars and bistros are within 300-500 metres, including U Medvidku, Cafe Louvre, and Kozlovna U Paukerta. The central location is ideal for solo travellers who plan to explore the city primarily on foot and appreciate immediate access to nightlife and cultural sights.

All beds come with a seating area, and bunks in 4- and 8-bed dorms have privacy curtains. A few rooms (including some 8-bed dorms) also feature curtains, for example, the 8-bed dormitory beds do have curtains. The property has a total capacity of 38 people, with a maximum group size of 6. Rooms vary in size, some being described as small. Noise from the street and from other guests moving about is a known concern, particularly because the beds are metal and can squeak easily. The beds in larger dorms have been noted as uncomfortable and noisy. A number of critical issues have been noted: bed bugs have been found in multiple rooms (including room 2 and the bathrooms), as well as poor cleanliness - rooms, sheets, and mattresses have been described as dirty. Showers and bathrooms are shared (male and female in the same room), and condition varies: some have been reported to be clean, but others clogged, mouldy, or poorly cleaned. Room lighting is dim in some dorms. Power strips are limited, and lockers are available but some do not function or require payment. Air conditioning is present in a few rooms, but many rooms lack it, leading to overnight heat in summer.

Free dinners are cooked by staff or volunteers several evenings a week and are a core part of the social experience, along with free sangria. The shared kitchen includes a microwave, electric kettle, cooking utensils, and a dining area, where free tea and coffee are always available. Breakfast is not provided by the hostel, but guests can self-cater or find abundant nearby dining options - a wide range of bars and bistros are within a 3-5 minute walk (e.g., U Medvidku, Cafe Louvre, Kozlovna U Paukerta, Gran Fierro). A convenience store is also nearby for basic groceries.

There is no spa or swimming pool on site. Leisure is centred around the shared lounge/TV area, board games, a Wii console, and free walking tours organised by the hostel. Evening activities such as drinking games, pub crawls, and boat parties are a major social feature. A pub crawl costs €30. Day trips and kayaking are also arranged by the team. Hiking is available in the surrounding area.

Internet access is free throughout the property. The 24-hour reception allows for late check-in and provides express check-in/out and private check-in/out. Luggage storage is available for a fee (charged in cash). Lockers are provided in the rooms (free, but some require a deposit for the key). Laundry service (washing and drying) costs 300 CZK (approx. €12) - guests leave the washing at reception. A hair dryer can be borrowed from reception free of charge. A 20 EUR cash deposit is collected for the key. Daily housekeeping is included, and ironing service and photocopying/fax facilities are available for an extra charge. Meeting/banquet facilities are available for free. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas and outside, key card access, and smoke alarms.
